27th December 2004: Tamworth Multicell Storm System

I was woken early on the 27th by the sound of thunder. A multi cell system passed over the Peel Valley (Tamworth) for much of the morning producing several small storms. Storms further to North appear to have been better structured and produced more rain. One interesting aspect of this day was the development of a slowing rolling band of cloud on the downwind side of the Melville rain which runs down the Western side of the Peel Valley (Photo 1). The sunset this evening was spectacular.
