14th November 2002 - Widespread Storms in the North.

Storms brought rains across the the North Inland on Thursday night bring some relief to the drought conditions, but also some damage.

Seven homes were damaged at Deepwater following a hail storm. Local residents described hearing the storm "absolutely roaring" as it approached at ~5.30pm. Hail fell around 30 minutes and was still piled about 20cm high on the lawn at the town's post office at midday the next day.

The hail devastated gardens in the town and resulted in the roof of one home to partially collapse under the weight of the ice.

Hail also fell on the Breeza Plains resulting in damage to some cotton and wheat crops.

Isolated falls in the Barraba area of 100mm (BOM recorded only 3mm in Barraba) resulting in significant flows in the Barraba Creek, damaging floodgates on some properties.
