3rd November 2002 - Severe Storms in Tamworth region.

A severe storm, yielding little rain, moved across the North-West Slopes on Sunday 3rd November bring with it extensive lightning which resulted in black-outs North of Tamworth and deaths to stock.

At Tintinhull, three cows were killed after lightning struck a tree they were sheltering under and a house was unroofed by strong localised winds.

Lightning strikes and a wind squall lead to power failures in the Tintinhull, Kootingal, Bendemeer and Moonbi areas with service not re-established for many hours

Tamworth had 7mm of rain while Nundle recorded 4mm. Barraba, Uralla and Armidale also recieved 2mm.
