Significant rainfall was recorded across the North-West over the 13th and 14th of October. The heaviest falls were at Quirindi with 97.0 in the 24hrs to 9am on the 14th, with Tamworth recieving 74.0, Barraba 80.2, Narrabri West 54.2. The falls were associated with rain and storms areas embedded in a large cloudmass which moved across the state.
The rain and storms increased under and ahead of a developing low, with falls concentrated in the North-West Slopes and Plains and the Northern Tablelands. The falls come just days after applications were made for several areas in the region to be drought declared, these being the first significant falls of rain since Autumn.
