It was about 36 degrees and we'd walked about 10 kilometres when we reached this watch tower on the Great Wall. The darkness inside was a welcome relief from the sun and it was many degrees cooler. We had been followed most of the way by several women selling postcards and iced water. While irritating at times, the water was most welcome. The photo shows one of these women resting at the door way to the watch tower. Thankfully we only had to descend into the valley and not walk up the other side. More photos from our Journey on the Trans-Mongolian Railway can be found here.

Has been a few years now since I was there and the memory of the heat is still very much with me. Quite an incredible place and you have captured it well.

One, absolutely beautiful photo with an equally impressive subject matter.
